The Autism Acceptance Book is an interactive book that introduces children to the struggles and realities of those living with autism spectrum disorder. It teachers children to support and care for those who have autism and to stand by their side as their friend. The book is educational in that is has information on autism, conversation starters, and exercises that ask children to "walk in someone else's shoes". The book's central message is for children to treat others how they would like to be treated. I like this book because it is an interactive journal that any child can have and read, and that it educates children on what it is like to live with autism. This book is also great because it gives children some ideas about how to reach out to children with autism in the classroom and beyond.
