The Penderwicks

National Book Award Winner

The Penderwicks by Jeanne Birdsall is a book about the Penderwick sisters and their holiday spent at an estate called Arundel. They meet the son of the estate, Jeffery Tifton, and soon discover he is a good companion for all of their summer adventures. It continues on with the magical adventures that the Penderwick's and Jeffery spend during their summertime in a carefree and breezy feeling storyline. This book is also a National Book Award Winner. I like this story because it is full of whimsical fun that makes the reader want to keep on reading.
